Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”, but she knows what she really is: a monster.

When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.

As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

- Goodreads.com description

I used to dream about turning back time,
about reclaiming the things I'd lost and
the person I used to be. Not anymore.

If you thought that the first instalment The Darkest Minds was incredibly amazing, the second instalment Never Fade will totally blow you away. This serie is made of awesome. Never Fade doesn't have a dull moment, is packed with action that will leave you with your nails bitten till you'll draw blood. Literally.

Ruby. Gone is the scared Ruby, who is afraid of using her abilities. Gone is the girl, lost in a world full of pain, unforgiven danger and terror. In this second instalment we meet the Leader Ruby, who is badass, a fighter and isn't afraid of danger. Because she knows she has the power to change things. And she would fight anyone to protect those special people she loved more then anything.

Liam. If you thought he was the sweetest boy ever in the first book, I must tell you, in Never Fade he is even more. This boy has grown so much to my heart. And I've missed him.

In Never Fade we meet again some of our favourite characters from the first book, but we also get to know new ones. Ruby's team at the League is pretty special. So different and yet, essential for the operation at hand.

Never Fade is full of action, incredible twists, lots of scary moments, and quite sometimes full of pure terror. The world Alexandra Bracken created is really a scary world to live in.  And these kids.. they are so brave to fight for their lives even when the odds really aren't at their side. I was amazed how they could still find the strength in their selves to fight back, when I would have probably curled up in a ball and wish to just die. But I must admit there were some very sweet moments too, and that itself made life bearable.

This incredible sequel is so good, you won't want to miss it! So, if you still haven't started this unforgettable dystopian serie, I highly suggest you to do it soon. It will shatter your world and then rebuild it and then probably shatter it again. And it will be worth it.
